WOW!!! My inlaws live outside Brainerd. Maybe I should take a road trip.

Can you pick me up on the way through.
I have a few lakes up there that might be able to do that.
    Those are some sumo slabs

I should be able to get to your house in 3-4 hours Ben. Can I tag along?

I thought about the same thing after my orig posting, Still a nice fish but not 18.5″, or at least not the one on the cardboard case of beer.

I couldnt imagine catching a slab like that! Outstanding fish.

Here is a slab that was found dead due to winter kill in central Iowa.

How to post a pic on IDO

Wow!!!! Those are some awesome crappies.

Where’s the line forming for the trip to that crappie lake?
I’ll bring the boat, beer & lunch.

In the past we ran a month long crappie contest here in the Brainerd area. I would weigh in quite a few nice ones each year. It would take a brute to hit 2 pounds. Usually they were 15-17 inches in length to make 2 pounds. What do you think something 18.5 inches would tip the scales at? I would think at this time of the year they would be beefing up too.
