I tried fishing in shore slough in lansing today had the camera down for 30 minutes and didnt see a fish any where. So we packed up and tried green lake in blackhawk park there where a lot more fish there but they really didnt want to bite. I think in 4 hrs. me and a buddy caught 12 fish 11 blugills and 1 bass (17″) There were alot of fish that would swim up and sniff the jig back up and swim away it was really kind of frustating but i guess thats fishing.

I fished north of Lansing. The last couple of times there there were fish there that would not commit. Soooo I took the camera. The vex showed the same reluctant fish. Camera showed small gills. 3 hours showed one crappie and two bass. I got one to take a Cecil. This area was great 3 weeks ago. They are someplace but not there.

Don’t feel alone , I fish almost everyday somewhere and with the exception of some nice hungry channel cats getting in the way, (sorry cat guys), the fishing has been very up and down.

Last week was very good Thursday and Friday this week is at best okay.. a good spurt in the morning if your in the right place at the right time, like pulling teeth in the middle of the day, and again some small areas yield a few fish.
I can’t make myself fish the 45 foot depths in the current flow where some are getting a few midday fish… but even that is sporadic at best… Not to mention that is where the iffy ice is.

All you can do is take what nature gives and keep smiling.
