I am brand new to this forum and was wondering if anyone has spent any time in north east south dakota in the last couple weeks? 3 of us are heading to the Watertown area 2-2 thru 2-7 on an ice fishing trip for perch and walleye and would like any information (good or bad).
We have noticed a decline in the fishing the past few years, anyone else seeing this?
    Thank you

I haven’t been out there since december and at the time the fishing was a little slow. We got some walleyes and a few nice perch but not much else.

Here’s the latest report put up in the last few days by Roy Lake Resort. Looks like a good crappie bite is taking place.

Once you get back let us know how things went for you. I’d like to make one more trip out there yet this winter.

Check out the Cowboy sport shop in Watertown. There is a board with all the area lake reports. Good luck

Just got back. Bring your snowmobile and trap if you want a successful trip. The lakes have had minimal pressure except for Pickeral. It would be a good idea to bring shovel and snowblower and tow strap, a couple of buddies to shovel and some money to pay the guy when you get stuck. all I can say is SNOW and lots of it.

Weather was the best that we have ever had but fishing was still very erratic. 3 guys ended up keeping 60 crappie, 12 walleye, and 14 perch.
Crappie came from Pickerel Lake by Webster and the perch and walleye came from Dry Lake by Willow Lake.
I will see if I can get some pictures up in the next couple days.
We had 2 days in the trip where we only caught 1 walleye between the 3 of us.
Lake access was very limited due to drifted snow around the lake edges so the 2 lakes mentioned is where we spent most of our time.
Thanks for the response to the original post.
