well here is two personal best. the funny thing was that somehow one of the northern was caught on the tail under the tip up. you can see the rip from that hook in one of the photo. and the last two are just small ones that we caught later the day. the fat female is back swimming and the males were dinner.

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. As for snagging fish on a tip up, I just had that happen last week fishing a #6 single hook and a spawn bag for trout. Got a 5 lb. female right between the pectoral fins. The odds were definitely against her with that deal.

I got to say, at the begginning of this winter year I had the worst luck catching pike. but with the help of all the people here the fishing trips are now way more successful. I catch more fish and bigger fish now than when I first started. thanks guys, couldn’t of done it without all your helps.

    Congrats on some nice fish!

I’m guessing at the rate you’re learning, you’ll probably break those “personal best” again before the winters over.

Nice fish… I snagged a really fat mid-thirties pike on a tip-up this winter too, but perfectly in the back. Ended up drilling another hole and sticking our arms in to grab the fish and pull its head up through the other whole. Probably not the smartest thing, but fun.
