Pays too shop!

    Got online to find my local Strikemaster dealer. I was looking for Lazer mag NIB. Local dealer is Scheels. Called them up and they had just received 2 8″Mags. Told them to hold one for me I will be there in an hour. 33 miles one way p-u’ed mag and a few other things. Stopped at my local Gander Mtn. on way home. Same auger for $60 bucks less plus I have a Gander card for 5% payback!! Turned around and returned old auger for new. Didn’t know Gander carried them?! Wife says call first b4 shopping!! She should know. Whats the breakin rule and any other tricks? R.D.

    some times you pay a little more for service, but $60.00 is a lot. You have to make the call on this, will Gander or Scheels back you up if you have any problems?
    I know I pay more just knowing I’ll get service after the sale.

    Just a note…Scheels would have reimbursed the difference. Not on the 5% on the card but on the auger…they price match.

    They have priced matched before and I’m sure they would have done it this time but 5%of a $350 purchase wasn’t worth it.

    For your information. Try D-rock in new brighton they service them. They sell ones that have punched 50 hole for fish contest with warranty for 50-75 off. You also can get blades much cheeper too. they sell fast so call ahead to see what they have in stock.

    The brother-in-law has bought some stuff from them. The prices are definitely lower. Just sort of wierd buying ice augers from a landscaping supplier.
