I am looking to purchase a GPS unit, want to know what the opinions are. Not looking for all the bells and whistles, just something that does the trick for fishing.

Met a fellow IDO reader at Sheel’s today in IC. Nice small world we fishing enthusiasts live in.

My vote goes to the Lowrance H20’s. I run the ExpeditionC and love it.

I second the vote for the Lowrance H20. Ive used both the B&W and Color and would say the color is well worth the money.

Yup, gotta go with a color screen for sure. Another vote for the H2O too. That’s what I use, and it’s easy to use, has proven to be durable, and works great. Any of the color Lowrances in the same line as the H2O will do a great job for you as well. It’s nice having a map card in the unit so you can find contour lines out on the ice.

My appologies to the fine folks at SCHEELS. Not SHEELS.
    Thanks for the input.

For fishing, I suggest the Lowrance Globalmap 5200C or the Eagle Intellimap 502C . Either of those will provide all you need to fishing, and they can both run Lakemaster, Navionics, or Lowrance map software if desired.

As the guys said, the H2OC is a great unit if you’re looking for a handheld GPS. But if you really want a full-size GPS for fishing, go with the 5200C or the Intellimap.

Sorry, I just realized we were in the ice forum, not the outdoor gear forum, so I might assume you wanted a GPS for ice fishing. If that’s the case, then the H2OC is a great choice.

    Hey Wade….
Are the H2O’s on backorder everywhere?
I’ve been looking for one since after Christmas and every site that once had them listed the are either on backorder or no longer even listed ( your site being one of them).
Is Lowrance going to discontinue them or are they just behind??
As much as I would like a color…the extra 90 bucks is not in the budget
    Any insite?
    Thanks guy…
