Hey guys, I am a current owner of a Vexilar FL-8 unit and I was looking to step up to a Marcum. I know a guy that has an LX-2 new in the box for $195.00. Is this a good deal? I told him I would take it but was looking for some feedback by anybody that may have used them. Thanks a lot and I hope that I mad a good decision- my Fl-8 is sold and I now have no flasher. 
I currently own an LX-2, had it for the last couple years. I havent been dissapointed. It offers 1000w of power, zoom @ 5 or 10′, and IR rejection…basically the same features as the LX-1P. The link above has a price of $250 not $190, unless I missed some additional discount. I would recommend the Lx-2, especially if you can negotiate the price a bit, but either way you will be satisfied.
Good catch Lax… wrong link on my part, but the Link I meant to put up is sold out, of the OLD VX-1! I was just wrong all around! 
However that link I have is then the same unit as the LX-2 But for $260 (there is an additional discount when you add it to your cart. I would say take the LX-2 in a heartbeat! 
Hey guys, thanks a lot. It sounded like a pretty solid deal. I just mailed him a check. I sold my fl-8 for 200 and I figure, I’m not out anything, I’ll give it a try. I want the bottom zoom for walleye fishing and was looking at the lx-3 or 5, and I just don’t think I’ll need the dual beem or the adjustable zoom. This unit seems pretty solid. Thanks again!

I was skeptical of the whole flasher deal when I bought a LX-2 a few years ago but that thing has paid for itself this winter in finding suspended fish I never would have found with my camera. The camera took a crap on me this year and I am thinking of adding another flasher for the kid. The LX-2 was the perfect machine for me as well and you can’t beat the price. Enjoy
