Happens every year but I think we’re going to hear about a lot of this crap this season.
A few got hit on Buffalo last week as well. Never fails!!
It’s the ONLY thing that prevents me from putting a permanent out…thieves and vandals!BIRDDOG
January 8, 2009 at 6:06 am #735197that’s the reason I dont have permanent houses anymore the thieves break in and if you dont have anything they want they trash it,
the sad thing is the hennepin county sheriff office knows who broke into a bunch of houses 2 years ago,
but they dont have the evidence to back it up so the little punk got away with itda-z-manPosts: 102January 8, 2009 at 11:38 am #735203I think a flat screen TV would be one thing I would take home with me everynight. I want a permanent in a bad way, but crap like this is what is stopping me
January 8, 2009 at 2:34 pm #735249It does happen every year. When I was in high school there was a couple winters on Medicine where someone was ramming houses with their truck totally destroying them and then taking anything that was valuable.
Years ago my dad and I had a house on Mille Lacs, we never left anything valuable in it but one year the 2 windows got broken out…just to break them out, there wasn’t even enough room for someone to get in through the holes.
So many people just have a general lack of respect for everything and anyone….kinda sad.
January 8, 2009 at 3:59 pm #735284i wish someone could catch these fools, how come no one ever sets up a sting on a landing like leaving an auger in the back of a truck or something and hide in the weeds and wait to bust them?

Too busy pulling people over for cracked windshields and burnt out license plate lights.
Thieves don’t pay their fines, working people do.

Makes me think of Lacrosse, two of my good neighbors got parking tickets for alternate street parking violations and New Years morning a drunk buried his van in the snow bank at 330 and has to leave it until noon. He doesn’t get a ticket even though he’s on the wrong side. I don’t know after watching him stagger around and not be able to get out of his mess he already received his punishment. Cold that morning too.
January 8, 2009 at 6:13 pm #735347My brother just built a shack and put it on White Bear. He leaves it empty and unlocked so the thieves don’t break anything. He did leave some of those fishing hand towels in the though. First night…stolen. Vehicle tracks circling the shack and footprints in and out. What a bunch of losers, they have to steal hand towels???
January 8, 2009 at 6:33 pm #735356I learned my lesson in high school. While on winter break we left everything locked in the shack overnight. Of course some A Hole ran their vehicle into the corner and broke the whole wall off the shack! It took 20 years for me to build another perm shack due to untrust! Now we leave it unlocked and empty! Only had a few problems with others garbage so far. That really bites when people due stuff like that!
You can only hope something like that happens to them so they realize how lame it really is!Ferny

Eventually, it will get used as a public out house.

January 8, 2009 at 7:33 pm #735389they steal anything and everything, like my ramps and tie downs out of my pickup on christmas eve.
January 9, 2009 at 5:27 am #735586Here we have a story about thieves breaking into ice houses while people are away…at the same time this guy tells the entire metro, both online and on the newscast that he’s leaving on vacation??
Quote:
On Thursday, Pohl wasn’t fishing. He was moving off Lake Minnetonka because he was concerned someone might break in. He decided it’s safer to take his house off the ice while he’s on vacation.

January 9, 2009 at 3:53 pm #735518so last night I’m coming in from fishing about 10:30 and I see this truck driving away from a pile of crap that they just dumped on the lake (plywood, doors and stuff)so I stop and tell a cop what just happened and he says that its not his jurisdiction. WTF Its A crime and he’s a cop , I guess that it would have cut into his DONUT time, what a prick,
so now I guess I I’ll be cleaning it up today,
it can go with the rest of the crap I picked up this week4 Green grenades
styro minnow bucket without a bottom
minnow net
air dam off the front of a car
diaper ( take it home with you I dont want to clean it up)
about 50 pop and beer cansOK I’m done with my rant I’m going fishing
