Has anyone heard of this pilkey (sp?) jig? Internet searches were not successful. From what I was told they are some sort of jig with a small chain dangling a hook? Help me out if you can please. Have a good night!

Are you thinking of the Hali?

Great perch jig. Rapala used to make them quite some time ago, now Hali makes one version. They call them Jiggers in Okoboji, IA. It’s about a 1.5″ slender vertical jig painted with a gold chain dropper/single hook. One of many people’s main perch rig.

I did locate some Hali’s online. This gentleman told me he used a pilkey, he got them up in the Spirit Lake area, they were purchased individually in a tube. He is supposed to bring me one to see. Who knows? Thanks for your reply.

What they call the Pilki is the Shucks Jigger. Pilkies are an old bait no longer made, these are knock off so to speak but work well. Also some sort of trademarking prohibits Charlie from calling them Pilkis.

If you’re close to Mason City, the Mills Farm Fleet store had two different versions two weeks ago. One was like that pictured on this site but the other was just a gold beady chain with a hook under it – no spoon above it.
