We were ice fishing off Spillway Dr. today when two women brought two dogs out on the ice. The one dog pissed not just on the side of my buddies tent but a good three feet up on it. He then pissed on another guys bucket and set off his tip up. I said soemthing to the woman and she said oh I wasn’t watching him. A big DUH!! Dog crap all over the landing; what are these people thinking? I like dogs as much as the next guy and it’s not the dog’s fault it’s stupid owners. She really gave dog owners a great name today. OK I’ll shut up. Common Courtesy?

I’m absolutely with you on this one. I hate dogs on the ice, especially when their owners dont give a darn. 2 years ago I had a dog urine on my aqua-vu and i kicked the dog in the [censored]. the owner and i about came to blows. sad thing is he didnt even say sorry. dont get me wrong i have 2 labs and love them to death but the ice is no place for them.

I don’t think that I have fished there without at least one dog being walked. I understand your frustration.

Hey, I think I heard the exact same thing from you last Saturday!

I’m with you Dan. I saw a Dog urine on a guys seat cushion last year, and the owner didn’t even care.

    Keep the dog home!

My dad and I were on Fox Lake in Sherburn the other day. My dad caught a really nice walleye, and threw it outside the shack on the ice. About an hour later I went out to get a pop I had in his truck and the walleye was gone. About 150 yards away was a dog, and all around our shack were fresh dog tracks in the snow. It belonged to a house on the lake- that is really sad, a person living out there that can’t keep an eye on his dog.

Dogs just don’t belong on the ice, especially when their owners are fishing. I’ve seen too many out of control dogs over my years.

Earlier this year someone had one roaming on one of our local backwaters and he was pissing on just about everything he came too. He came by me and almost got hooked on a little Cecil as I was lifting it out of the hole. There’s a little bit of an evil side of me that says next time that Cecils going to be accidently hooked in that dogs lip.

Put a smile on my face early this morning Herb!

Just remember guys…like Herb, the dogs don’t know any better. They do what dogs do…It’s the owners and Fishing Machine that are to blame here…put the hook in the owners mouth.

Or send the dog home with a Secret Seven stink bait under it’s collar.

There is a big difference between a dog that’s under control and one that isn’t. Prior to arthritis and getting old(the dog, not me…..as much…), I brought my lab with on EVERY ice trip for several years. Never had a problem with her – but then again I spent a lot of time training and had a dog that listened without me screaming at her……….. She was good company in the portable and I miss having her along. The new pup will accompany me soon, though. If that offends some, oh well.

A dog that is not under control is a pain the the rear EVERYWHERE – not just on the ice. Same as kids……

Timmy made a good point plus the fact his dog was a female. They are much easier to control on the ice. I don’t mind if they come to visit as long as that is all they do.

That dose suck and u should be mad. But you got to admit its kinda funy that the dog peed on your buddys shack. I know I would laughed my butt off then i would said something not so nice to the owner.

I would kick the dog in hopes the owner showed up for his/her watering.
