I am looking for a clear plastic lens cover for my LX5, I have seen a few on the ice in use but forgot to ask where they bought them at. Now I can only find one for the vex,s. It is a 2008 LX5 any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I have a friend that bought one for a Vex and made some modifications with a dremel and it now fits his Marcum. Just a thought

To get a lens cover for the MarCum you can buy one for a Vex and then sand out the inside to make it fit. You will need some type of electric sander/Drill. I know in the past MarCum never had a cover, not sure if that has changed.

I’ve seen guys take a Taco Bell cup or a small coffee can, buzz off the top and pressure fit when needed. Looks unsightly but gets the job done, and maybe those ideas can do in a pinch.

I hate to go all McGyver on this one but if all you’re looking for is a snow shield to keep the snow from accumulating around the face of the marcum how about clear saran wrap stretched over the face and a big rubber band around the housing to hold it in place?

    And I’m only halfway kidding.

They actually make a shower cap like thing that fits over plates and bowls. I think you can get them at the grocery store? If not how about a shower cap? Those are clear and should work good?

A guy could take a small chunk of window draft guard plastic, some removable adhesive and stretch it over, adhere, and then heat to a crystal clear view!

I just finished modifying a Vex cover for my LX-5. I used a small drum sanding wheel that fit in the chuck of my benchtop drill press. Sand down the nubs and a couple of passes around the inner edge and it fits. Take care not to scar the viewing surface. I put a wrap of electrical tape for good measure and it looks good to go.
