After reading Daves report on pool 10 I thought another full report wasn’t quite needed.
My son Cam and myself had a chance to slip out for a few hrs.early this afternoon.
To echo Mr. Koonces report, the specks were on a tear!
The first hour after arriving was an old fasioned shoot out with little cecils being the main weapon.
After icing 3 straight Cam came sprinting over to find out the hot bait. I had him tie on a glo chartreuse cecil and all of a sudden, Cams day was made. He tried like heck to out fish Dad but I had a pretty good lead
Late afternoon the weather grew darker, wind shifted due north, snow was being spit and the temps plummeted. Yep, end of that bite.
Started working the bottom hugging gills the rest of the day. Tiny purests, gillpills and moonglos with a small waxie enticed some dandy gills. Pounding the jig on the bottom for fifteen-twenty seconds then raising it up an inch or two produced the bites. The second you let the bait sit still for too long though, the marks would vanish.
As Dave said, you had to keep it moving.
Everyday is different.
The ice recovered very well from last week-ends slushathon.
Never busted through the skim at all leaving for comfortable travel. Cold weather tonight will really shore up a few things.
Hit the river guys, the bite is happening
