just modified the heater so that the BTU’s are lower cost about 12 bucks cuts the heat down probable 3/4 on the lowest setting guessing putting out around 2-3 thousand BTU. thanks IDO MEMBERS for the help from previous posts on heaters

I just picked up one of those heaters last night, I may have to try that if it’s too hot.

    Nice mod.

If a person wants to get by cheap, like myself, a match book slid into the slot beteen the rid indicator and the edge of slot will tighten up the valve so it can be turned down.

Another thing I do when using this style heater…keep a piece of HD aluminum foil handy for under the front of the heater. Prevents a flood.

so with that attachment you can shut down the valve so it is just open enough to keep it going. what kind of valve is it?

Thanks for that bird dog, I was trying to think of some way of preventing the flood today, while I was trying not to fall on my in the shack today.

Any chance you might want to post the details? I wouldn’t even know what to ask for?

Thanks for posting this. I have often thought my heater was too much for my shack most days. This looks like it would help a great deal – I was just telling someone I thought 3-5,000 btu’s would be about right. I’ll have to give this a try.

    Thanks again!
