what has worked best for me tip up fishing over the years is take a buddy that is good at it! let him set up the lines while you stay in the warm shack jigging a rod!

after everything is set up just keep a close eye on the flag! if it gos up let your buddy out first and when he is about there and expects nothing! tackle him from behind and steel his fish!

this works every time! and you will you off!

that my tech tip of the week!

    good luck!

Note to self: Watch your back if you ever go fishing with the gun….

I will never forget the look on my buddies face as TheguN tackled him that first time!! I was behind them running for the tip up. I was laughing so hard, I couldn’t even beat them to the flag even though they were both lying on the ice.

Welcome to IDO Mr. All Outdoorsman!

I’m guessing your fishing Southern MN Lakes?

First off, check out this video<<<

As you can see, live and dead bait work well. Again, I’m assuming you’re fishing for pike?
