I’m heading to Waubay South Dakota in mid January with about 20 fisherman for our annual perch outing. If the fish wont bite the pork chops in a can will. Just wondering if anyone has been in that area. Just checking for a fishing report. Any information would be appriciated.

We were there in mid-late Feb earlier this year, what a great place. We stayed in Webster, and there are a ton of places to fish. We didn’t fish Waubay, but we did fish quite a few ‘new waters’ where water just crept up and created new lakes and ponds. Lots of perch and some good walleyes too.
The biggest lake we fished was Piyas, and once you found the dropoff you were in business. We had some real decent luck there, but you had to be there early in the day.

Good luck up there and have fun. Let us know how it goes.
