Anyone try Custom Jigs & Spins “Worlds Greatest Spring Bobber”? I like the little spring by HT, but they tend to freeze and are a pain to rig. Any idea where a person can buy these without paying the $6 for shipping? Thanks !

Looking forward to trying these out. Going to order a few as soon as I type this

If there is a spring that can handle tiny pills, rat finks etc. then can be adjusted for your heavier pimples, slender spoons etc. that would be one versatile little set up

Good work CJS on the worlds greatest spring bobber

My only concern after looking at these is the small opening and freezing. Please let us know how they work.

I think there is a ‘no freeze’ spray you can apply to prevent this.

Tried them – they freeze. Otherwise OK.

i use the st. croix springs they sell at f/f and epoxy an old eye from a broken fishing rod to my ice pole, the rubber bushing the springs fit into i had some laying around that work perfectly that fit into the eye an the spring is still adjustable save a little money this way then buying the legend rod, i do have 2 legend rods that i use, but thats where i got the idea

have you looked at easy bite adjustable bobbers? They seem to be ok so far. Depending on what you jigging you can adjust them from 1/200 oz to 1/2 oz.

i don’t like those kind of springs. I’m a fan of the frabill’s or nothing at all…Yeah they can freeze pretty easily but all you have to do is blow on it and the ice comes right out. I fish in a shanty 75% of the time anyway.

im with cade, those frabills are sweet!! and i fish out of a clam exclusively too. i have too many toys (vex/camera/) to hole hop every 5 mins!

I make my own and have for years out of the spring out of the Bic lighters. You can stretch them way out for more sensitivity and install them with heat shrink tubing. I fish in a tent 95% of the time. I have 2 of the C J & Spins ones but haven’t tried them yet. RH

If you really want an easy to use spring bobber, try the Dino-Bite. They are only $2 each or 3 for $5. Available at {Edit: in the IDo Classifieds} These are easy to rig and you don’t have to damage your rod in any way. Also works on all rods!

Make your own St. Croix clone. all you need is a #8 one legged rod guide, 1/8″ ID rubber Grommet from local hardware store and one of the St. Croix Springs. Here is a pic of one of the ones I have made.
