Just wondering if anyone has ever fished flies much ice fishing? And if so, what sizes and patterns? The main thing that made me think of this is that I’m going to fish a tournament where you can only use one rod, thought of using a fly as a dropper? Thanks guys, and think ICE!

Dave you wouldn’t be thinking of the TA on West Okoboji would you?If I give you secrets you’ll just turn around and beat me!!!!! Use your fly on top,not on your dropper. The smaller the better.I’ll show you how to rig it when your up here.

Tricks to beat you? Would I do such a thing? lol That was my plan to use it up there, and for other situations, just always seemed like a good plan, but have never tried it. Hope to see ya up there Ryan, think ice!

Hello I’ve had good luck with a very small white hair fly thru the ice .Mostly late season stuff tho.I think it’s rabbit hair You can buy this type all over. Make doesn’t matter. It seems that it has its own action so fish them very very slow fall presentation our just hang them at the depth you want. The hair has a breathing action if just moved ever so slowly!! Good luck
