Well, since I wrote about the bad ice forecast a couple weeks ago, which ended up making things pretty nasty in eastern IA and points eastward, I though I’d take a second on here to let folks know we’ve got Great Ice Ahead! The snow’s melted off many areas now, and that’s really good news! We are going to get a long lasting, Arctic airmass into the midwest this upcoming week, and we shouldn’t get much snow before it gets here. The net result for much of the area that saw the rotting ice and melting snow a while back, will see great clear ice formation. The potential for many nights near or below zero appears likely, especially late in the week, with some highs not getting above 15. Gettyup and get out there!
