Had the opportunity to go fishing with my son-in-law and some of his friends yesterday. We went to Rice lake just south of town. Got on the lake at 11:30 AM and drilled a bunch of holes and started searching. All we were catching was 4″ perch. 
Drilled more holes and a 1:30 the first crappie was on the ice. Drilled more holes in that area and at 2:00 they srted biting. Caught our 40 by 3:00 and had a great time. Ice was 12+ inches and NO SLUSH. 
Forgot the camera in the truck 
so didn’t get any pictures this trip. We are going again tomorrow to fish the mighty Mississippi backwaters for eyes and crappie. I will remember the camera for sure.
