With a day off of work and the warm weather I decided to head out in search of a fish dinner. I get to the landing and unload the 1979 Ski doo blizzard, hooked up the shack and make the 2 mile run through the slush and snow. I decided to fish an outside bend in the old river channel I found this summer that is loaded with wood. After drilling a ton of holes I found what I was looking for. With the tip-ups set up it was time to set up the shack to get out of the rain. 20 min later I am rewarded with a nice 16″ eye. The day went on with me catching 5 eye’s over 20″ (all returned) 3 16-17″ers and 8 jumbo perch which were all over 13″. Had pictures but dropped the camera in the slush while packing up
Ice conditons are great with 20″ of ice, but I did find a drain hole that would have swallowed a truck. Be carefull out there and good luck.
