Started my day out on the Croix just north of North Hudson. I cannot believe that people actually drive all the way across the river and from MN , not only that they do it 30+ mph. I just shake my head and watch , phone in hand Didnt even get a bite . So then I decided to move to a small lake outside of Stillwater (via the roads not the ice). Got to the lake and there were a few people out there so I ventured to the opposite side of the lake from the crowd. Drilled my fishin hole first then my tip-up hole. Got the tip-up in and got to my fishing, got the depth set on my bobber put on a minnow and dropped it in WHAM the bite was on . I caught a dozen+ of these (pictured below on a 8 in. minnow bucket) sunnies in less than 2 hours while no one around or in the crowd caught a thing. It sometimes pays to go with your gut not the crowd.
