Although I have not been able to getout on the ice yet this year I have kept my eard open. I spoke to Ben at Ben’s Bait in Grand Rapids this morning. He has been on Winnie a few times already. He says the ice is 12+ inches and people are getting around all over with wheelers and sleds. He has not encountered any slush. 
High Banks Resort is going to start plow ing roads on the 28th. Ben said the Birches Landing was swamped with vehicles parked way down the road. 
No one is driving their vehicle out yet but I suspect that will change real soon.
The first trip Ben made to Winnie, he limited out on eyes in 15 minutes. I am meeting Love2fish on the 28th or 29th to do some searching on Winnie. Looking forward to getting out on the ice.
