Was just wondering if anyone out there uses circle hooks on their tip-ups rather than the trusty old three-hook trebles… seems like a circle hook would be a great fit for tip-up fishing – let ’em run with the bait for while, swallow it down, then slowly tighten the line – feel some resistance and give ‘er a slight tug to set the hook. If it works, it should be a lot easier to CPR than trying to dig a deeply seated treble hook out of the gullet. Thoughts?
