Went to check the ice on a little lake south of Shakopee.
Very slushy and just about had a heart attack (thought I was going through)I broke through some frozen slush but landed on 6 1/2″ of solid ice.
Walked out close to where I always fish and the ice was 4 1/2″
Hopeully with the low temps it will add a little by this weekend.
The water was very clear this year. Past few years it has been all murky.
Is it possible that the water will turn murky again this year or since it is clear now will it stay clear?????
I have caught some big slabs ( biggest was 17 1/4″ crappie) on this lake in years past but haven’t done so hot when it is all murky colored.
Can’t wait to get out. As far as I could tell I was the first to check the ice.(that is a first for this californis boy)
