I made the rounds this morning checking on the usual first ice spots and here are my findings:

Black Deer- The very back bay is ice covered, but not even remotely close to being walkable.

Lauderdale- Lauderdale has a nice covering of ice everywhere except right next to the boat docks.

Camp 22- Ice is from the power lines and back to the end of the bay. Shorelines are open, but the ice a little ways out is forming very nicely at this time.

Fisherman’s Road- Very nice layer of ice here with one small open water area about 40 yards from shore. The ice will hold you but only out 2 feet or so from shore.

With this weeks temps we could very well be on some of the shallower spots by the weekend. Most of the areas have enough ice that the wind should not be a factor to break it up. I will be keeping my eyes on the ice and will report when I feel it is walkable. You of course will have to make your own decision as to what is safe to you
