St. Cloud Hospital’s respiratory care department is sponsoring a seminar this week featuring professional ice fisherman Dave Genz.
Proceeds from the ice fishing seminar will benefit the Breath Savers support group.
Genz was chosen to lead the seminar because respiratory disease has affected his life.
His wife, Patsy, has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
About 24 million people worldwide have COPD, the fourth leading cause of death. COPD is a more common killer of women than men and the mortality rate has more than doubled in the past 20 years.
The ice fishing seminar is from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Windfeldt Room at CentraCare Health Plaza. Participants can use the Woodlands entrance.
Tickets to the event are $5 at the St. Cloud Hospital Gift Gallery, the respiratory care department or at the door.
For information, call the pulmonary rehabilitation department at 251-2700, Ext. 54345, or respiratory care at 251-2700, Ext. 55675.
