    La Nina

“As far as local effects, it means that we could see slightly above normal precipitation, maybe a little bit cooler temperatures,” said Karen Trammell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Chanhassen.

However, Trammel said people shouldn’t necessarily count on it.

Check out the statistics from the past two minor La Niña events:

    • In the winter of 1998-99, the temperatures at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport were average with above average snow.

    • In the winter of 1999-2000, it was warmer than average with an average amount of snow.

Trammell said it’s almost impossible to predict snowfall. The temperature is a little easier to call given the warming trend all over the globe.

I love the disclaimer at the end.

I chose not to read beyond the part that I posted above… and that is good enough for me.
