A group of guys are coming up next weekend and we are wondering which would be better Snowmoblies or 4 wheelers for travel on the lake? How much snow is on the lake ?

March 19, 2007 at 12:41 am #550226Just returned from LOW and the ice conditions are great. If you are not going to use your trucks to go on the ice I will suggest ATV’S only. There is very little loose snow that the snowmobiles need to keep cool and lubricate the hyfax!! Besides, you can drive anywhere you want to with no troubles! The shoreline is still pretty good and I can’t see it deteriorating too badly before next weekend. BRING YOUR EXTENSIONS!!! The ice is around 40″ and with my 12″ extension I was pretty much down to the ice. I had the best luck on Northland rattling spoons in the gold color.
