I was trying to activate the simulator on my LX3 and could not get it to work….direction say hold the zoom bottom while you turn it on but when I tried that it didn’t work. Do I need to disconnect the transducer?? Will it hurt the unit to turn it on without the transducer on??

Not all units have the simulator in. The original run had it in because it was on there to demonstrate the TC or True Color Technology when if first came out. So, if you hold zoom and turn the unit on and you don’t see anything yours does not have the simulator. It may be a newer run that was run without the simulator in.
I just figured it had it in the direction and that it have the simulator….no big deal I just wanted to show a buddy that had never fish with the electronics what to look for.
He figured it out after I showed him what to look for.
