Pout spawning

I saw a lot of pout this weekend and it looked like that they were spawning(I think that is what they were doing). They would come in sight of the camera and stir up the bottom and than lay there for a while. Than they would swim away. I saw this at least 7 times in 2 days. The walleyes would come in and than leave right away with out even looking at my bait. Is this normal time for the pout to spawn?

Yes, you are correct. Pout are the only freshwater fish to spawn in the winter and its usually this time of year.

Jbob…wallabies have a habit of not liking camera cables either. They come in…but aren’t interested in biting…and swim away.

Which is why Reel Weeds were invented, to hide the camera cables.

All this coming from someone that admitadly knows nothing about walleyes.
