I found this while searching the net, thought they were pretty neat. I saw a show a couple of weeks ago on the science channel about hypothermia and different things they used, the one that worked the best was a heated vest. The test subject was able to sit in the test room with out gloves and his hands never got cold.

Not to highjack your post, but a couple years back I was on hard water on a bucket in Minnesota City with tip ups and I did the best rain dance you have ever seen. Felt like a bee in my boot stinging my toe. Was the first and last time I wore those eletric socks and I am anti battery to keep warm.

I would like to hear some “realworld” reviews of these. If they work I’d shell out a hundy.

For what it is worth. The best heater I have ever used. This was made for me (which I am sure you can buy) from a family member. It reminds me of a back support, goes around the waist placing heat at the lower back, it was made out of cloth then I wrap it around latch it with velcro in front, and in the back is three pockets to place the larger hand warmers in. I usaly wear it under my hooded sweat shirt and over some under shirts. When I start getting cold I toss in a couple of warmers and heat right up. I place my hood over my head and you can feel the heat rise right up back and over the neck. It is easy to wear, packs up real small, and works every time. and probley cost $5 to make.
