Just wondering if anyone has fished Holland Lake in Eagan this winter. I tried once last winter with out any success I heard that they hang out by the fishing pier and to jig just below the ice. Has anyone else heard of this technique?

I fished it last winter, with a little success, albeit very little. I have seen and heard of a few people doing ok though. And yes, only a couple of feet below the ice is what worked for me, and really move those spoons. If you watch down your hole, you can see them swim by often enough.

They mostly do just that for me… swim by

I live about a mile from the lake. I’ve caught sunnies and crappies, bass, and a few slimers. Everything has been real small however. I have seen a few Brown Trout caught through the ice. The DNR stocks them once in a while.

If you are up for trout, why not go to Chaska, to the trout pond?

I think they opened it last weekend, right?
