Ice conditions for clearwater is about 14 inches thick but the ice is not a strong 14 inches the top 2 to 4 inches is very soft for of air bubbles and the bottom ice looks to be about 10 to 12 inches of nice clear ice..
Would not advise people to drive out on this lake yet. This lake is known for sucking vehicles in even on good ice years. But there are alot of vehicles driving out with there doors open. In my opinion if you feel you need to have your doors open maybe you should listen to that gut feeling and not take the vehicles out on the ice. I personally whenever driving on a lake in a vehicle have kept my windows open for no ice is ever safe ice..

I agree very good point a car will sink faster if the doors are left open so it is always a good idea to leave your windows open as an escape
