I finally made it out today for the 1st time this season…long story.
I was on Big Round and Big Blake Lakes, north of Amery, WI.
The ice is good, ~10″. I was after perch on Big Round, they came slowly in about 12′ of water on silver and gold Swedish Pimples and a minnow head. I saw lots of lookers on the Vexilar, but had to tease them to bite. Seemed to be in a neutral mood. Ended up with 4 nice sized eaters.
Moved to Big Blake around 11 am. Not a bite until 2:30 or so, it was crazy for 45 minutes then off like a light switch.
Almost everything I caught today was on a green/chartruese rocker from Custom Jigs and Spins tipped with 2 waxies, or, on a Swedish Pimple with minnow pieces/parts or waxies.
