    In-Depth Outdoors and Tamarack Lodge have teamed up to bring you IDO’s ’07 Perch Fest! on Lake Winni (about 4 hours North of Mpls/St Paul) on the weekend of March 23rd.

    Lake Winnibigoshish is legendary in the Midwest for Jumbo Perch fishing through the ice. In addition to the Perch action, Northern Pike fishing is excellent throughout the ice fishing season. Lake Winnie is one of the top Walleye fisheries in Minnesota!

    Jeff at Tamarack has room for 15 right now, but March is his busy time of the winter. Book early!

    $80 per head for a Fri and Sat. night stay.

    It is a great time of year to catch lots of big perch and eyes. Hope alot of you can make it up here for the GTG. Tamarack is also a great place to stay. Make your reservations now.

    Late ice perch fishing is a blast up on Winnie. Depending on the year they may be found in 30′ of water or they may be up in 5 or 6′ of water. Either way they taste great!

    From my understanding there’s 4 or 5 bed left at Tamerac.

    This will be my last outing on ice. Seems like the lakes just froze!

    Just off the phone with Jeff.

    He cleaned 200 perch yesterday..and forgot to take a picture… Bad Jeff!

    Anyway…the perch bite is on….as of today trucks are driving on the lake…more ice up dates to follow as we get closer to the day. There is some water on the ice and sleds might not be a good idea at this time.

    I may be able to make it up on Saturday. I have my foot in a walking boot because I ruptured my achillies tendon. Will see a specialist on the 23rd about surgery. This boot is not water proof so will see if I can wear a regular boot for the day. I also have some friends coming down from Alaska to chase the perch around. Hope to make and see you guys again.

    Count yourself out…….. Been there done that! Had surgury 2 day’s after the rupture. In a cast for about 6 weeks!

    Andy/Matt/Calvin….I deleted the pm I got asking to confirm your six man…Just off the phone with Jeff…you guys will be comfortable.

    Bring your wheelers along. With the rain today, if you want to drive your car out on the ice, you will need to go to Sunsets to enter the lake. Big hole at Tamerack…

    I’ll have my wheeler there and can pull/transport guys.

    Sounds like the perch have moved into the bay…so the travel won’t be too far.

    If you’ve gotem…bring reel weeds. (hint hint)

    Tamerack has room for 1 to 6 more…so any of you last minute guys give Jeff a ringy ding.

    I’m coming up w/ Trevor Wilkey, Mike Oakley, and Mike Festler. We’re staying in the six man with Matt and Calvin. Originally it was Trevor, Mike Oakley, Luke, and Tom Nugent. Mike Festler and I are filling in Luke and Tom’s spots. See ya’ll soon!
