Hey guys,I’m new here ,but most certainly not to the sport of fishing.
They call me CrappieKeith. I spend 200-250 days a year on the water.
I tie my own jigs and 99% of the time never use meat. I’m all plastics or hair jig user.
I tie my own & sell them. The jigs range from a 32nd oz. to 100th oz.
Check out my fish from Dec. 1st on to now.

Here is some video rippin lips,

    Here are my jigs.

I fish them with a spring bobber & a good flasher.

I tie them on with a loop knot so the jig hangs freely & I use a small splitshot 14″ up from the jig.

hey keith do the colors in your jigs make a difference. and would you say your jigs work better than those at the markets. i am wondering because i am interested in them too. what time would you say the crappies are most active accroding to your experience. thanks.

Was out with crappiekeith 12/30 caught 2 11 inch crappies 1 8 1/4 bluegill on the jig it diffently worked on that lake dont know about any other lake will try for perch on the pond. I drove 2 1/2 hour to fish for 5 hours just to drive 2 1/2 hours back to work at 4pm. I had a blast fishing with crappiekeith and friends I learned a lot about fishing mcgregor area lakes. Thanks keith and hope to fish with you soon.

A general rule of thumb for me is to go with yellows or green in stained waters. In clear water whites.

So yellow&black or yellow & orange or yellow & blue vs.. White & black or white& orange or white & yellow or white&pink.

As to biting times, every lake is different.Early morning & late afternoon seem to be the best. Some lakes are good at night even. These seem to be clearer lakes.

Yup it was fun Schlenkki. Come when you can stay longer. I’d put you up if you need a place so we could get a good day plus in on the hardwater.

Here’s to driving the hook too the bone.

Say who’s that guy in the background?
