Auger question

I’ve never bought a gas auger before & now I’m looking for one. My questions is, I want to get one that I can also use (with the dirt drill) for drilling post holes in sandy soil. Will a 2 hp model work in the dirt or do I need a 3 hp? Thanks.

I have a two horse power earth auger…works great. Then again, I have a five horse as well, that takes two people to operate..

Depends on what size of earth auger you are going to use. Eight or ten inch earth auger will be fine with a two horse engine.
