OK…am deciding between a VS 460 or 560. For me, I think the biggest difference is the remote control. I think the temp and depth is not a big deal. So should I pay the extra for the remote or not? For those who have the 460 or 560, please let me know your thoughts and experience. Thanks!

If I had the $ I would save the $100! and get the 460. With all the gadgets we have I know I do not need a remote. Sooner or later it would find its way into a hole like my 2 cell phones, grizzly, many jigs, 1 jiffy scoop, 1 throw away camera, 1 gaff, etc……..

Holy I have lost a lot of crap down holes of darkness ice fishing………

Klink man…not only do you need a head lamp but those retractors to keep your things from falling in!

I have the 500 Vincent. It’s a very nice unit…but I’m going to upgrade to the 560 when I get the chance. Mostly for the auto pan.

    Well…I’ve only lost…

one plastic ice scoop…(they don’t float guys)
While open water fishing the following spring, I pulled up the old metal type in about the same spot…so I call that even.
One never used 50 lbs Berkley digital scale.
One brand spanking new bullhead net (Fabril Brand $10.00)
Wrecked my daughters portable cassette player…fell in the ice hole, but pulled it back out ’cause the head phones stuck in my ears.
    …and I think that’s about it.

I did see a fellow angler toss out his needle nose instead of the jig he had in his other hand this last Oct…that was funny..’cause I didn’t do it!

The remote is nice, but the best feature of the 560 is the directional indicator on screen. The camera is equipped with a sensor that indicates which way the camera is looking in relation to the screen. So if you’re looking at the screen and the arrow is pointing to the right, thats the way the camera is looking. Say you moved the monitor, the sensor compensates for that and it cannot be fooled.
I personally believe that is the best feature. It takes the guess work out of looking for your bait or wondering where you’re looking.
The 560 also has 3 pan speeds vs the 460’s 1 speed.

so for the extra hundred you’re getting:
    remote
    3 pan speeds
    directional indicator
    depth sensor
    temp sensor

Plus if you buy it from Jolly Ann, you’ll save $40 on tax.

The 560 is worth the extra money, you will be glad you paid the extra $100. They are so nice when set up in the permantent and you can use the remote to Pan all your baits without getting up from the table. Make sure you use the video out to hook up the Camera to your TV
