…but I’ve been lurking for quite some time. Great board with a lot of great info! I spend most my time on Mille Lacs and the small (much) lesser known lakes around it fishing a little bit of everything.

I just wanted to say hello and pass on a little info that’s posted on Portside’s website that might be of interest: Mille Lacs Info

I’ll try to add a pic soon, but it’s not as simple as I thought it would be!

    Later,

You’re very welcome. On a side note, I also got me some goodies at the show this weekend. Came out with a 5 pack of ReelWeeds (Thorne) for $50 I think and 2 pairs of Ice Armour gloves for $25.00 total! I was happy with that.

Welcome… Just a quick question if you don’t mind. What kind of software do you sell?

Well, I now sell security software – patch management, regulatory compliance, anti-spyware, etc. – for a local company.

Before that I was in ERP software (Enterprise Resource Planning) for mid-to-large manufacturing companies at Epicor Software.

We actually developed the program w/ the ISO folks and their international 17799 guidelines. SOX, HIPAA, GLBA, etc. fall under that umbrella and we map to those.

The actual software maps to those regulations in relation to network configuration settings … basically we help secure and configure people’s networks with that particular product. Our other products tie indirectly to SOX and others as “patching” is very important for security audits and all that good stuff.

Gee, anybody excited about software now! More than fishing?! Nah … me neither.

One thing I see on the Portside website is toward the bottem that says the slot limit is 22″-28″. Surely I could be wrong but I thought it went to 20″-28″ as of December 1st. Just a FYI to save anyone some grief from mistaken info.

    You got it right, Steve.

    Regulations for 2006
MILLE LACS (regulations include all tributaries up to posted boundaries)
No culling: It is illegal to cull any species of fish that have been reduced
    to possession.
Walleye: All 20 inches or larger and 28 inches or smaller must be
immediately returned to the water, except one walleye over 28 inches
is allowed in possession. Limit four. Starting July 15, all 22 inches or
larger and 28 inches or smaller must be returned to the water except one
walleye over 28 inches is allowed in possession. Limit four. The slot
will revert to four walleye up to 20 inches with one over 28 inches in
the four fish limit on Dec. 1. Regulations will be posted at public water
accesses, will be available by calling the DNR toll free information
number (888) 646-6367, and will be posted on the DNR website: www.

Huh – good catch (pardon the pun). Steve must’ve neglected to change that after the Fall season. I’ll shoot him an email letting him know to change it.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! I can’t wait to get out on my newly acquired ATV and get some early-ice fishing in on Mille Lacs!!!

Oh, pipe down Chachi! What do you know anyways?

Yep – we’ll be out there in no time! I think these guys have their big shin-dig over towards my cabin, right? We’ve got a place in Sunset Bay, so just around the corner from the craziness and Hunter’s and The Wharf.

Yep, it’s just up the road from your cabin. I think we are going to have to make a trip up there that weekend.

Has the old guy talked to the resort yet about the other shack? I need to get on the ball on this one.

Think he was waiting to hear from you before he did anything more. Might want to drop him a line. He’s on the way up to the cabin now. I’m meeting them for lunch in a minute.

    Welcome to the site Dogg!

Bait-n-beer, eh? I would bet that makes it a pretty popular place. You guys sell Cap’n Morgon at that place? Not that I need any for an upcoming fishing trip or anything…
