i agree, from what i hear. bout the fishing up there, it would be worth the drive! i say we should do it.
-AaronNovember 14, 2006 at 8:26 am #499229I’d be willing !! just change the PdC one to LAX !!!
What do the rest of you guys think ?
November 14, 2006 at 12:44 pm #499243Mr. Mack, I’ll have no say in the matter, other than to say a La Crosse event might be neato cool. My work load likely won’t allow me to go to either one anyway. (gotta get a different job)
But, if you cancel out the PDC event, the PDC police might be very dissapointed. I think they’ve come to expect Jake and Mr. Funny Pants to blow into town every winter.November 14, 2006 at 6:30 pm #499392I would show at LAX or PDC if I do not have a Wild game to attend!!
November 14, 2006 at 7:42 pm #499418i say why not do both. i mean the PDC we need to have its a good time plus we’ve been doing it. the PDC can be the big blow out type like 2 years a go. then have the LAX just a little GTG for people to meet and just have fun fishing. i wouldnt see why we couldnt do both. i think we need to do more of these, its a blast.
-AaronNovember 14, 2006 at 8:54 pm #499449I’m likeing the LAX idea too…(both that is)
but the LAX plan is that I get a motel for the night…send the wife shopping while I go fishing and just meet up with her later in the day…it’s a win win situation
November 14, 2006 at 11:58 pm #499528We definitely need to KEEP the PdC GTG
That is a good time and gives me a chance to get away for a weekend. We could for sure try to get a LAX area GTG as well a little later in the year
November 15, 2006 at 3:00 am #499604I think doing both would be sweet also. I was really pulling hard on my dad last year to just drive down to PDC and go to the event but then it got cancelled. I don’t know if he would of, but it wouldn’t suprise me if he did. Thats where I got thinking: wouldn’t it be cool if we could have one in LAX too, so all us kids that live here in Lax wouldn’t have to worry about major transportation. But I would really like to go to the PDC one too, because I love trying new water. My only problem with the pdc event is not getting a ride, seeing as a drivers license is still 1 full year away from me.
lets here some input from some other LAX ice-heads?? Bret? Where are ya?
November 15, 2006 at 2:38 pm #499703If you stay between the tracks a LAX GTG would allow MN residents to fish without having to get the Ia or Wi license.

November 15, 2006 at 9:27 pm #499878Hi all,
La crosse rookie here. I would definitely be in for the LAX gtg. Hi Mike. Hi Cade. It must be getting close to first ice, I am back to checking the site regularly. Look forward to hooking up with you guys soon. TedNovember 15, 2006 at 11:04 pm #499918Yo Ted
Nice to see ya back
I almost stopped in your office the other day to see of you were still around. Looking forward to hitting the ice with you again this year. I have a few more days of work and I am done for the year
November 15, 2006 at 11:11 pm #499920Ted! I was wondering what happened to the Laxrookie! Glad to have you back and I was thinking you would be back around ice time. What happened to Mike C., JP mason, and J_ERICKS?
Let me know when you want to hit the hard water Ted, I think this year is going to be my best one yet!
November 17, 2006 at 9:53 pm #500767Just bringing this back to the top of your new post list. I’m serious about this idea and would hope that EVERYONE interested respond here or in a pm. I haven’t recieved any pms yet regarding the issue so i was thinking either some of the people haven’t seen this yet or don’t care for the idea. I really would hope we could do something like this!
thanks,
CadeDecember 15, 2006 at 3:23 am #511528There was some talk about an ice gtg in LAX in the shoutbox today..so i thought i’d bring this back to the top!
Nothing’s final until we get REAL ice here in La Crosse, but I think we could for sure work something out.
December 15, 2006 at 10:47 pm #511839Both places sound good
Aaron (favorite youngest son) and I would try to make it…
Favorite oldest son don’t fish,I tried my best… I keep working on himDecember 18, 2006 at 12:13 am #512258Sounds like an excellent idea! Fishing in that area is always good. Looking forward to meeting fellow IDAer’s from the area.

January 12, 2007 at 4:38 pm #521930Yes, I’m thinking we should wait a little longer, but I still think we should have a little in formal gtg…I don’t know yet where we would have it…I have some spots I’ve been hitting, but they aren’t very big and I don’t want to give them up…I think we should get the ball rolling and get together in the next 3 weeks before indian summer strikes again
The best possibilities I was thinking of are stoddard and lake onalaska, since they are community areas with large area. But with minimal parking at stoddard, and who knows if the fish will be biting…its hard to say.
Anybody got any more ideas?
January 15, 2007 at 12:59 am #522698Is anyone going to revive this now that there will be some ice?
John
January 15, 2007 at 1:04 am #522699I think it would be a great idea
We now have some good ice in this area and I hope this snow doesn’t hurt it any. We are expecting 5-7″ from now until Monday morning
I would think once we get the Mille Lac GTG out of the way, then we could get something going here
