i just have one of those cloth wraps that hold the poles in thier own slots and just usually set it in a 5 gallon pale. Cheap and nothings been broken. The pale is usally wedged in the sled with the tackle box, bait bucket, and auger.

I just got all the aluminum pieces that I need to modify my new X4 sled as soon as it arrives. The plan is to put multi compartments in the sled to prevent items from flying around when it is being pulled or loaded into the truck. My last one was plywood that worked of but just thought I would try one out of aluminum this time as I am planning to keep this house for a few years.

I will be putting in a pin system so that 4 pins can be pulled allowing the entire system to be lifted out of the sled. The blue prints call for a locker for the heater, tank, rod bag, tackle tote, built in minnow bucket and even one for a fish tote too.

Man I hope ice gets here soon!!!!

I cut PVC pipe in 2 foot lengths, cut a slot so you can slide your rods in them. I screwed three of these PVC pipes on each side of the trap. Works darn good, is very cheap, and best of all, never busted a pole.

Try a Plano arrow case, just add a little soft foam for padding. Can’t beat a hard sided case.

im thinking of mounting a hard sided case of some kind in the back corner of the sled for long hauls and then mounting 5 in tubes on the back of the drink tray, so i can just stand rods up in there for short distances
