The ice conditions are eroding extremely fast! Please be careful on the ice. Yesterday a truck went through Otter Lake about 300 yards from the landing. The vehicle was travelling on the main “roadway” where it is usually safe. He found a spot with only a few inches of ice and ploop, went through. From my understanding only the front of the truck went in as it was around 6′ deep.
We have been walking on the ice since mid week last week. Some lakes the shorline ice breaks as you step onto it.
Remember folks, open water is so close at hand it isn’t worth trying to get one more meal on unsafe water. The boat can be afloat in a few short weeks!
