The wife & I are heading to the pond Saturday (2/11) any suggestions on what time, where to fish (we are looking mainly for eyes)? Any help would be great. Neither of us have caught a eye through the ice Thanks in advance!!

The Perch have been doing better then walleyes. Agate Bay has worked for me and we go out of Hunters. If you look through the fishing reports you will find what your looking for! This site is full of info.

    GOOD LUCK

First hour of light and last hour of light seems to be the ticket.

did really good last weekend with the perch, I probably caught upwards of 70ish on Sat. all day out using moon jigs with a sinker for weight size 14 I believe. Sunday fished a few hours in the morning before leaving caught around 20ish using waxies and spikes for bait, did keep a couple for a meal at home.
tried bigger jigs had less bites, more lookers than takers,
smaller jigs caught more fish= more fun for me, buddy used bigger jigs less fish but they were bigger.

Welcome aboard Driz. Like the boys said above…. If you’re looking strictly for walleye, your best bet is to fish lowlight on the top. However if you’re going hardcore walleye all day. Concentrate on the deep side of breaks throughout the day. Often times if you find a mess of smaller perch hanging out around the top of flats, humps, or shorelines,…you’ll find the bigger walleyes not far away in deeper water. If you do find the above scenario stick it out for the night and make sure you’re moving around. But I’d advise you get in the perch action. It will require some hole punching if you and the wife want your 40. I don’t know if your wife pro hardcore, but bringing in perch around 1 lb in respectable numbers should build interest if shes not. If you’re looking for a base camp/house to shack up in,..check out Hunter’s Resort on the West side. They’ve consistent Perch action with a bonus walleye or 2 thrown in. Good luck to you. Matt Grow

Matt, did Hunter’s move to the west side lately? What are they teaching you in school?
