Anyone been on Lower Long Lake (New Auburn) lately? I was thinking about going there this Saturday and was wondering how thick the ice was. I was in Spooner last weekend and I was able to drive my Dodge Ram out on Little Rice Lake! I didn’t measure it but it was well over a foot thick.
I was on McCann Lake (same area)on Tuesday this week, and there was 13″ of ice. There didn’t seem to be any bad ice, it was solid the whole depth. I caught a ton of panfish in the morning, but the fish stopped biting at 11:20 and I didn’t get a bite after that. Good luck!

Duckhunter, any good locations on McCann to look at fishing? I’d like to try it up there this next week possibly? I actually want to learn that whold chain of lakes up there better.
