today started off early and slow. never had a bite b4 9. jumped around from area to area. just for the heck of it i drove to a spot on 7 where i had had success 1 week ago. after switching colors several times i had my first hit on green, and it was a pig 12.25 perch. my best perch to date. after that it was a free for all. iced alot of fish including perch crappie and sunnies, two of which hit 9.5&9.75 i kept nine fish total and released a pile. the bite slowed and i left it alone. another great day on the ice

Nice fish! With a Perch like that, you should be smiling ear to ear.

I get more than a few like that in the spring before they spawn like the one in the pic. We typically slide them back to the water. Please don’t think I’m harping Catch & Release that’s NOT what I’m saying. That’s my personal preference with Sumo Perch. I’ll keep some of the males for sure.

Someday I hope to meet you on the water!
