Ice rod

I’d heard of people using some ice poles that were 54″ long lately, so I decided to do a little looking around the site and found a post from last years mille lacs gtg. I thought this was a good idea but didn’t want to buy one until I saw if I liked it or not. Since our family doesnt throw any of our old rods away I went scrounging and found a broken half of a pole. I also found a peice of leftover plastic tubing that wold work for the handle. The gap inside the tubing was to big so I filled the gap with duck tape so that it was a tight fit. Finally I wrapped the entire thing in electrical tape to get what you see above. All I have to do is add a reel. This one is only 37″ it was the longest one I could find today.
