I fished goose island today for about an hour and a half and had fair results. Fishing was decent from right when we got there till sunset, but we stayed about a half hour or so after sunset and that last half hour we went biteless. they turned off with the dark and they wouldnt take plain jigs glo jigs, anything we dropped down. We got out. I caught probably 25 gills, only 3 keepers but many that will be keepers next year 
another guy that was leaving gave us quite a few gills. Probably around 20, and i took 12 of them and had them for supper tonight. I was with my friend Carson, and we were fishing shallow water, 2-4 feet, but we still brought are flashers just because they are a blast to use. Ice was 7-8 inches yet where we were, but there is no current.
