Such a nice day and haven’t been on the ice and when I saw people at Lauderdale and Fisherman’s Road I had to get out. One fella was heading in and he just said there were small fish. Next gentleman I talked to recommended I stay close and not venture too far. There was another guy down towards the west docks. That fellow left about an hour after I arrived and said he only had 1 1/2 inches of ice out there. I didn’t drill any new holes but we had between 2 and 4 inches of ice. I believe the fellow I was talking to; he said this would be his last day on this ice until cold weather makes some more. Managed to catch 7 gills in a short time five of which were keepers. Watch the ice and carry a spud.
