Crappies on Mead Lake

    Lots of crappies! Unfortunately, no real size. Sat. 1/07 -Non-stop action for about 3-4 hours. Between the three of us we caught approx. 150. Just could not find their moms and dads. Again, suspended in 15′ of water. Used waxies and minnow heads with the larger ones taking the minnow. All released..we didn’t want to work that hard for a few filets.

    Yeah they are very thin this year. After three hours yesterday I had 4 decent perch (7-8″) a decent gill and one very tiny crappie. Good eatin for sure but takes a few for a meal. Ice was good yet anyhow.

    SO I WASN’T THE ONLY THAT DIDN’T HAVE VERY GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND. I FISHED FOR 12HRS AND CAUGHT 12 FISH. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS THAT 4 OF THOSE WERE 11IN PERCH. THE OTHERS WERE 8-9.
