otter lake ice derby?

    just wondering if anyone heard of a derby this saturday the 7th. if so is it still on? thanks

    Derby is still on as of 5pm today. Ice on Otter is in good shape all things considered. Please be aware that they turned the airerators (sp?) on 10 days ago and the south west side (about 3/4 mile long) is truely off limits unless you have a boat!

    Good fishing has been in 12 feet of water with the bite comming in 6-9 feet of water. The big gills respond well in the morning and the crappie mixed throught the day. For me waxies and anything orange has been hot, and even minnows are taking the big bulls at times!

    Those looking to fish otter had better be prepared to walk over a mile for the best fishing or bring an ATV/snowmobile. The ice is NOT good enough for an automobile!! There is plenty of parking on the south end by Curve In bar or on the east side off HWY H.
